Adoption Day

Today we returned to the adoption center to make it official. We finalized the adoption, and our Fan Xiao Jia is now Lindy Li-Xiao Osborn. We promised we would take care of her and never abandon or abuse her. We signed several papers and had our first family photo taken.

We have spent the afternoon in our room playing with her (in between naps), and trying to get to know her and understand what makes her tick. She waves and plays peekaboo. She cries whenever one of us leaves her sight. Things are going as well as I think they can.

It is hard to believe we have been gone almost a week, and how much our lives have changed. We are enjoying China, getting as much rest as we can, and have stayed well.

We must sign off for now and go get some dinner. We don't know when we'll be able to post again, but will try as soon as we can.

Thanks for all the wonderful emails. They are a source of encouragement to us.

Love,
D, L, & L

I had been checking up until bedtime and was praying and thinking about you all night. I was so thrilled this morning to get both updates from Monday and Tuesday giving us the news we had been waiting for! Lindy will be fine...she's attached to you both already! Now...if only I could transport you all back home right now so I could get my arms around you! Now that she's with you I hope you will be able to enjoy these next few days together having fun sightseeing!
Love,
Mom

God is good....

Remember, its never too early to start forming her little fingers into the "hook 'em" sign.

I look forward to giving Lindy a hug....

What a great looking family you guys are. You will find (I'm sure you already know) that watching Lindy learn and grow is truly amazing. She will be watching mommy and daddy constantly and picking up everything. And, as you watch her, you will be astounded at what she learns each day. We are so excited and happy that you have such a lovely little girl who will bring constant joy to your lives. The angels are singing joyously because now Lindy will certainly come to know God. Without you, who knows....?

I join with all the rest of my family to congratulate you and praise God for Lindy. She's a lucky little girl to have such loving, caring, selfless parents. You've been through a lot these past few years but I know when you hold Lindy, your heart forgets the past and looks forward to every new day! Can't wait until you are all back and we can rejoice with you in person. Love to you all, Linda

Just like the others I have been checking every few minutes for an update. But I wasn't worried I knew you were spending some good quality family time together. Don't worry about the instructions (who reads 'em anyway) your parenting skills will soon kick in! God's blessings to your beautiful family!!

Sherill

Don, Lisa & Lindy,

What a blessed family! Holding your daughter in your arms for the first time is simply amazing. Tears came to my eyes as I recalled how I felt that moment 11 1/2 years ago. What a precious gift! Treasure every moment.

Safe Travels & we'll see you 3 soon,

Karen, JaNae, Denver & Conner
