China or bust

WOW, what a week!

On Monday, March 13th, we finally received word from our adoption agency that they had received our travel approval. This is notification of when we can travel to China. We had been waiting and waiting for this for so long. This notification was what we needed to get our visas and our appointment with the American Consulate in China.

On Tuesday we received our Consulate Appointment date of April 11th. We were disappointed to learn that it was a week later than we originally thought, and that we won't be traveling to China next week.

After spending all week on the phone with our travel agent, we finally have purchased our tickets to and from China. Talk about some serious sticker shock!

We leave on Wednesday, March 29th and arrive in Beijing on Thursday evening, March 30th. (Keep in mind China is 14 hours of us here in San Antonio.) We'll spend a couple days in Beijing doing some sightseeing. On Sunday, April 2nd, we'll fly down to Changsha, the city where Lindy lives.

Our "Gotcha Day" (Forever Family Day) should be Monday, April 3rd. This is the day we've been waiting for; the day we will finally meet Lindy and have her placed in our arms. Lindy will be with us from this point forward. We will spend the week in Changsha and then fly to Guangzhou on Friday, April 7th. After visiting the doctor and taking care of some other business, we'll go to the American Consulate on Tuesday, April 11th, for our final interview. On Thursday, April 13th we will leave out of Hong Kong and arrive back in San Antonio on United Airlines at 4:25pm.

Stay tuned for more information!
