In training

I really can't believe I am posting about this but it is a big part of what is going on with Lindy and us these days--potty training.

Lindy is officially in training and so are we. I think it is going fairly well and coming together. Lindy has stayed dry throughout the day for several days in a row. She is not shy about telling us when she has to go. She announces it in full voice and is quite insistent and persistent about it, even when we don't want her to be like in church or the middle of a furniture store.

I have heard some kids are afraid of the process, are particular about where they do it and with whom, etc. So far, it doesn't seem to matter where we are or who she's with. If she wants to she will, if she doesn't she won't.

I'll admit we haven't read one thing about this and we are totally winging it. We've opted to bribe umm I mean reward her successes with a single M&M. She enjoys the M&Ms, the high fives, and praise. It is fun to see her excited about her accomplishments.

It is definitely a time-consuming process and a commitment. I know the more committed I am to the process, the more successful she will be. I hope it won't be long before we are completely diaper free but I know we still have a way to go...

Yeah Lindy! We trained back in June (I think now, hard to remember) and I blogged about it, too! We just did it, there was no turning back. She was ready, and it went well. We got her the little potty (one for upstairs, one for down) so she could do it all by herself. She really liked that.

M&M's worked for my boy (now 7). Hey, whatever works! ;)

She's so cute. Noah will sit on the potty and produce maybe a tablespoon and then say "I need a jelly bean!" Otherwise he is so not ready. His sister told him if he went potty he would get a jelly bean - the little stinker!!! Such a good memory she has - and of course she needs one for moral support. Maybe he'll get there soon too!

Sounds like you are doing a marvy job at handling this challenging task! :) I think it's great Lindy is upfront and direct about it, certainly beats the ambivalent approach!! Congrats to her, and we'll cheer from all the way up here!

It is a great feeling to not have to buy diapers or pull ups. Looks like you are well on your way and doing a super job with Lindy. We had it so easy with Mallory. She trained so very easy. I am sure with our next daughter things will be different.
Congrats to Miss Lindy!!!

Go Lindy! I have a feeling that Lilli is not going to be as easy!
