Almost Heaven

One of the Christmas presents I got for Lindy was the book Take Me Home, Country Roads. Don doesn't know this, but it really was more for him than Lindy. Don is a BIG John Denver fan and I thought he'd enjoy reading and singing this with his sweet little girl.

It definitely has been a hit for both of them and I reap the wonderful benefits, too. Because I am technically challenged, I cannot share a video clip of these special father/daughter moments; however, trust me when I say it is, as the song says, "almost Heaven."

What music to my ears to hear the two of them singing this fun song and then hearing Lindy through the baby monitor singing it (FULL VOICE) from her crib.
Couldn't resist posting these pictures, even though you really have to hear her to get the full sweetness of it.

Beautiful. I haven't seen that book. I'll have to look into it. My kids love books that have songs to go with them.

I've never heard of that book, but I do know that song and love to sing it too~ country girl at heart. :)
I wish I could see that on video, I'm sure it's a sight to see. Sweet!

OKay, her expression in the second photo is just so darling. I love it! Isn't it wonderful watching your daughter and her daddy read books and play together. I love watching Mallory with Ron. Something about a girl and her daddy just warms my heart. I have seen that book but haven't bought it yet. Looks like I just might have to go get it now. :)

So cute - love the book. When I missioned in West Virginia, this was our theme song...still gets me misty -eyed - those mountains changed my life. Isn't it awesome to see the sweet side of fatherhood in the actions of your loving husband? I think it's the best part!

Oh I love it! I need this book! Mark always teases me about my crush on John Denver when I was younger. I still love his music!
Nothing better than Daddy's voice to a little girl.
