Lindy spent three great mornings with some of her sweet Chinese friends this past week for the second annual China Camp. See here for highlights from last year's event. Once again, my very sweet, organized, and crazy BRAVE friend, Shawna, put on another wonderful event for this great group of girls. They sang, listened to stories, played games, learned about Chinese money, Don and Lisa Osbornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16447300760785998746noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23954739.post-41210262958931439762010-08-12T14:09:00.000-05:002010-08-12T14:09:14.078-05:00***Girls only***Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30
Last Thursday Lindy attended the Sweetpea Beauty luncheon at church. For her this was kind of a big deal because it was her first event with the "big girls." As a Kindergartener-in-waiting, she is no longer lumped in with the toddlers and preschoolers. Sniff...

She finally did it! She learned how to tie her shoes. However, Lindy isn't just applying her newly acquired skill to her shoes. Nope. That's not how Lindy does things. She is tying up anything and everything that can be tied. Daddy's shoes--tied. Ribbon on my pajama top and bottoms--tied. Woo hoo! When I looked to see what happened during those months, I discovered we were busy but I didn't have a lot of pictures to sift through, other than our trip to the beach. In June Lindy started dance class. It is half ballet and half tap. Guess which part she likes better? Apparently she likes to be Don and Lisa Osbornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16447300760785998746noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23954739.post-59672421617521032352010-08-02T09:15:00.001-05:002010-08-02T09:45:20.139-05:00Memorable May 2010 momentsBesides Lindy's birthday, there were a few other picture taking, memory making moments in May...The day after Lindy's birthday was Mother's Day. After church we had a yummy meal at Texas Land & Cattle. Oddly, Lindy's father didn't take any pictures of Lindy and her mommy together, nor did he take a generational picture of Lindy, her mommy, and her grandma. Can you believe it? I can't! Five seems like a milestone birthday to me. In honor of her big 5th birthday, we decided to take the plunge and have a birthday party with friends. The birthday girl! A great shot with Grandma & Grandpa.I had known for about three years that whenever I did brave a birthday party, I was going to have a pink party--her favorite Don and Lisa Osbornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16447300760785998746noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23954739.post-73008766568660622042010-07-23T12:04:00.002-05:002010-07-23T12:46:05.748-05:00Breakfast of championsI'm interrupting the previously scheduled spring 2010 updates to write about our mommy/daughter date this morning.I surprised Lindy with a breakfast of champions at one of her favorite places in the world. This year we went for Chinese at a favorite restaurant followed by ice cream to celebrate our 4th Forever Family Day.Holding the outfit she was wearing when we met her.Historically, yellow is usually my "bad luck" color but on April 3, 2006 when my sweet Lindy was placed in my arms, it wasDon and Lisa Osbornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16447300760785998746noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23954739.post-55705305938275429902010-07-18T15:50:00.000-05:002010-07-18T15:59:37.781-05:00The madness of March 2010I am making an effort to catch up on some backlogged blog posts. As I've mentioned before, the three blogs are kind of our scrapbook and memory book. It is amazing to me how memories begin to fade so quickly when you are my age. ;-) So, instead of attacking some of my seemingly more pressing tasks, I am choosing to work on catching up. Not long after Lindy turned three, we tried to get her to give up her "rag." We thought we'd cured her in a matter of days but come to find out she had found replacements, instead. The rag gave way to a nice pillow which gave way to a blanket and so on and so on. We'd take something away and she'd find Don and Lisa Osbornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16447300760785998746noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23954739.post-3456374665858720552010-01-22T09:27:00.004-06:002010-01-22T09:36:38.800-06:00Flashback FridayI love this girl like white on rice. She had fun decorating a wreath, playing relay games, and eating the special Happy Meals they brought in for lunch. She did not "CHOOSE" to visit Santa Claus, despite the lure of chocolate. She was very emphatic that it was her choice and she was choosing NOT to see him.Her teacher, Miss Roberta, is the best! The day after Thanksgiving--while Lindy was taking a nap--a package mysteriously arrived at the door. It was The Elf on a Shelf. We read the book together and removed our elf from the shelf. In a matter of moments Lindy named him, "Elfie." For the past three weeks, Elfie has been moving around our house and keeping a watchful eye on Lindy. I guess she had her school Thanksgiving feast on her mind at an early hour. I know she doesn't completely comprehend what the pilgrims did and their importance to our country but she does know enough to include them in her thankful list, so that's a start. I'm thankful for my little pilgrim and would've traveled on the Mayflower over and Don and Lisa Osbornhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16447300760785998746noreply@blogger.com5
